Give Yourself Permission to Take Care of You

I have a confession to make:

I haven’t been taking great care of myself. To be honest, I haven’t for awhile now.

The early postpartum days turned into the back to work after a short maternity leave days turned into stressed and overworked work from home mom days turned into building my own business while being a full time mom days…

It all happened so fast.

And I kept telling myself - I’m going to get it together. I’m going to get back on track.

But here I am, 16 months after giving birth still feeling like I’m off track.

It’s kind of confusing, this place. Because while my business is booming and my family is wonderful - I keep putting MYSELF on the back burner. Like an afterthought. But this is the story of moms across the world right? Always putting everyone else’s needs before our own. Without question, without complaint. We just do it.

Somewhere along the way we were taught that our needs don’t matter. But that just isn’t true. As cliche as it is, you have to fill your cup. You just do.

What does it mean to fill your cup? Well that’s going to look different for everyone. What fills me up may not fill you up. And that’s okay! There’s not a one size fits all to this “self care” thing. But what it it does mean is doing things that make you feel good. Truly and undeniably GOOD.

So if you’re like me, and you’re just sick of feeling off track - this is your permission to do something for you (and only you) today. Because you matter. Your needs matter. And each day is a chance to give yourself something you need.❤️
